Is Lightning DPA-compliant?

Yes. We sign your district's Data Privacy Agreement before any student data is loaded. Built for FERPA: parent/athlete consent is required before a student record is imported, coaches only see athletes on their own teams, document access is logged, and record changes are audit-tracked.

Do we pay per coach?

Every plan includes 10 coach seats. Need more? Add extra seats anytime at 50% of the coach-tier price — no surprise per-coach charges.

How long does migration take?

A 60-second CSV import from your current system. The importer reads exports from SportsEngine, FinalForms, and homegrown spreadsheets, so most departments are up and running the same day.

What about multi-sport athletes?

One student record, every sport. No more "Sarah Johnson" in your spreadsheet three times because she plays volleyball, basketball, and lacrosse.

Can college coaches actually find our athletes here?

Yes — Lightning's recruiting layer (the same one used by Lightning for Coaches subscribers) searches across all schools using Lightning. College coaches search by sport, position, grad year, and region; your athletes' verified stats surface.
