Maine's Student Information Privacy Act (MRS Title 20-A, Chapter 13) plus the Maine Student Online Personal Information Protection Act (LD 454 / SP 183, 2015; amended 2017) regulate how online operators, educators, and third parties can collect and use student personal information in Maine K-12. Online operators must delete a student's personal data within 45 days of receiving a school administrative deletion request. What Maine athletic directors actually deal with

MPA approved a major basketball reclassification (effective 2025-27) — Class A (670+ students), B (450-669), C (225-449), D (100-224), and a new Class S for schools under 100. Class AA (the former largest tier) folded into the new Class A. ADs at small rural Maine schools now have a distinct postseason path that didn't exist before.
