Two related camp formats run by college programs to evaluate recruits directly — usually $200-$400, almost always worth the cost for athletes with existing program interest.
College programs frequently run their own ID camps or prospect camps to evaluate recruits directly. Done right, these are some of the highest-leverage recruiting touchpoints available — much more efficient than open showcases.
ID camps and prospect camps are typically 1-2 day events held on the program\'s campus, with the program\'s full coaching staff running drills, scrimmages, and evaluations. Cost usually $200–$400. Attendance ranges from a few dozen to a couple hundred athletes.
A general showcase invites college coaches to attend an event organized by a third party. The college coach makes a budget decision about whether to send a staff member at all, and often only sends one assistant. At an ID camp run by Program X, Program X\'s full coaching staff is there. They\'re the ones evaluating you.
As the second or third touchpoint with a program — not the first. Build initial interest through outreach and video; then attend the camp to deepen the relationship. ID camps convert warm leads into recruits much more efficiently than they convert cold attendees.
