If you decide to continue after 30 days, you add payment then. Cancel anytime during the trial with no charge.
Lightning for Schools is free until Sept 1, 2026 for up to 50 athletes — a time-limited trial of the platform, not a permanent free tier.
Lightning for Private Trainers has no trial because there's no flat fee — Lightning's only charge is a 10% application fee on bookings, taken automatically by Stripe Connect.

Athletes can have multi-sport profiles. Search filters adapt to the sport. Stats and measurables are per-sport — exit velo for baseball, vertical for basketball, 40-yard for football, drag flick for field hockey, etc.
For players under 15: profiles are managed by the parent. Every coach message routes through the parent portal — you approve or reject before it's delivered. Your child does not see un-approved messages.
For players 15–17: every coach message is copied to the parent's email automatically, and the parent is on the thread. Parents can revoke access at any time.
For all under-18s: no phone numbers, home addresses, or personal emails ever appear on profiles. Coach accounts require adult verification before they can message anyone.
From your dashboard settings → Manage Subscription, you'll open the Stripe billing portal where you can cancel, change plans, or update payment info. If you cancel, you keep access until the end of your billing period — then your account reverts to expired status (notifications visible, messaging restricted) until you re-subscribe.

For Players, Coaches, and Private Trainers, every paid tier starts with a 30-day free trial (no credit card). After the trial, users who haven't paid are in an "expired" state — notifications visible, messaging restricted — until they re-subscribe. "Expired" is a subscription state, not a tier.
